Another writer of ours has been playing P-CARS for a while and finally has an opinion on the matter. His old game of choice is Gran Turismo 6, but now that he has a new one, he looks at the finer points of both games.

For example; the Audi R8 LMS GT3 car was so tail happy even with the all the driving assists on that it was useless

This makes me highly question his ability to play the game. Nevermind all the patches and updates they did after initial complaints about the noise issue. there are a lot of shifty opinions here but I admire the spirit.

I think the thing to take away from this article is “If you jump in and play a racing game once a week at most, and just want an ‘authentic’ racing experience, not the experience of a console simulator, Project Cars might be better than Gran Turismo.”

A lot of people don’t play Gran Turismo for realistic-spec races (and even fewer play for the career mode...) but for the insane variety and customization that lets you edge out opponents in a wide range of styles and cars.

For a lot of people, me included, the idea of a game where you can just jump into an F1 car right out of the box is worrying, likewise for any simulator that is compared to Call of Duty. From what I’ve seen, Project Cars feels very hugbox and less exploitative/creative, in addition to the obvious physics realism complaints.

In that way, Project Car’s realism is found in the way they organize races and communities. Whereas Gran Turismo’s realism is in the process of playing a racing game . There’s a certain level of discouragement and staggering customization that is supposed to put casual players at a distance in GT, and push current players to continue to raise the already high skill caps.

Makes me question whether or not he played Project Cars. If you are struggling on GT you have no hope in hell on PC assuming you are on a controller. At launch On the Xbox One the controller was unusable especially if you jumped on from Forza 5 which gives so much more feedback than PC.
